Volunteering: WWOOF Israel

As of 20.10.2015 Israel immigration allows wwoof volunteers to volunteer up to 30 days with a tourist visa. please refer to Israel immigration volunteer regulations
WWOOF Israel – Volunteer Visa Procedure
If you wish to volunteer for more than 30 days, you will need to obtain a volunteer visa.
But how do I get this visa?
Well, first you need to become a member of WWOOF Israel.
Than you need to contact a farmer that you wish to volunteer with, and when you both agreed on a volunteer period which is more than 30 days, you will do the following
1. Arrange all the document necessary for volunteer visa (see below documents for volunteer visa)
2. Arrive Israel and enter with tourist visa
3. Volunteer for two weeks at your host
4. Get a recommendation letter for volunteer visa, based on:
1. Your host opinion – if he see in this two weeks that you have desire to learn organic farming
2. Short skype interview with WWOOF Israel
5. You will than need to go to one of the immigration offices with all the documents and apply for volunteer visa.
6. After two business days you will receive the volunteer visa for three months.
7. You will be able to extend it for another three months if your host recommends it and out of the first three months you volunteered at least two months.
Note: Your host, wwoof Israel and the immigration office can decline in any point above that you are not entitle to get a volunteer visa.
Documents needed for volunteer visa:
1. Plan of your stay – a table containing host name, volunteer dates
2. Certificate of Non-Criminal Record – from your country.
3. Insurance policy that cover volunteer work at a farm.
4. Your passport is valid for a year after entering Israel.
5. A letter from a doctor approving you can do farming tasks.
6. A year has passed since your last volunteer visa ended
7. Signing a paper where you commit to leave Israel when your visa ended and provide what is written in the section – "When you leave Israel"
Payments
You will need to pay directly to the immigration the amount needed to issue volunteer visa which is about 180ILS or 42EUR or 45USD WWOOF Israel service for volunteer visa is free of charge, we just ask you to follow and commit the procedure.
When you leave Israel
The immigration rules, expect us to make sure, that each person who stayed in Israel with a volunteer visa, will leave the country when the visa ended. So in order to fulfill it you will need to send us a copy of your exit Israel stamp in the passport.

Can anyone apply for volunteer visa?
If you are above 18 and you wish to learn about organic farming and you have motivation to help a farmer you can apply. If you just want to stay for a long period in Israel or you think WWOOF is like cough surfing, please don't register with WWOOF Israel.
Can I apply for a volunteer visa within Israel?
Yes, WWOOF Israel is approved by the immigration to recommend a person for a volunteer visa while you are in Israel, it will take two business days to obtain the visa.
Why do I need volunteer visa?
If you wish to volunteer for more than 30 days you will need a volunteer visa. All WWOOF organization around the world obligate to act according to the country rules, we too must follow the immigration rules.
Do I must volunteer only at one host with volunteer visa?
No, you can volunteer with several hosts, just update your profile when you are going to be in each host
I want to volunteer 5 weeks, do I need a volunteer visa?
Yes, for more than 30 days, you need a volunteer visa.
Is there age restriction to apply?
You need to be above 18.
