Mr. Simeon Akinremi Akinyera (January 1943 - August 2010)
Mr. Simeon Akinremi Akinyera, a devoted husband, father, and elder brother, was born in January 1943 and passed away peacefully in August 2010 at his residence in Lagos State, Nigeria. His life was one of quiet strength, selfless giving, and an enduring commitment to family, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. He was laid to rest in Ogun State, a place dear to his family’s roots.
Simeon lived much of his life between Lagos and Ogun State, where he built a home and a reputation as a man of integrity and generosity. A retired Cost Accountant, he approached his work with diligence and skill, earning respect in his professional circles. Yet, it was his passion for helping others succeed that truly defined him. As the firstborn of his family, Simeon took on the responsibility of raising his three younger brothers, as well as his stepbrothers and stepsisters, guiding them with care and ensuring they had the support they needed to thrive. His sense of duty and love for family extended far beyond obligation—it was a calling he embraced wholeheartedly.
At the center of his world was his beloved wife, Ruphina Bosede Akinyera, with whom he shared a partnership built on mutual respect and unwavering support. Together, they raised their children—Bolanle, Olubunmi, Taiwo, and Kehinde Akinyera—instilling in them the values of hard work, kindness, and unity. Simeon was a father who led by example, offering wisdom, encouragement, and a steady presence through life’s joys and challenges. His residence in Lagos was more than just a house; it was a haven where his family gathered, laughed, and grew together under his protective care.
Simeon’s love for giving mirrored his belief that success was not just personal but communal. He found joy in lifting others up, whether through advice, resources, or simply being there when needed. His siblings, children, and wife were the beneficiaries of his boundless generosity, and his influence reached into the wider community, where he was known as a man who could be counted on.
At the time of his passing in August 2010, Mr. Simeon Akinremi Akinyera was survived by his devoted wife, Ruphina Bosede Akinyera, and his cherished children, Bolanle, Olubunmi, Taiwo, and Kehinde Akinyera. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit of selflessness and family devotion lives on in them and in the many lives he touched. His memory remains a blessing, and his example continues to guide those who were fortunate to call him theirs.
